The following obituary was beautifully written by Dave’s wife Cassie and sister-in-law, Brandi Duke:
David “Dave” Robinson lived a life full of love, laughter, and caring. He never hesitated to help others and had a way of making people feel accepted and valued. He didn’t care about how much money someone made or what they had in life. To Dave, what mattered was the person you were and the love and friendship you shared. One of Dave’s favorite songs included the line, “I’ve known a lot of real good men… I’ve called ’em my friends.” Those words seem especially fitting for Dave. He was the kind of man who collected friendships rather than possessions, and those friendships meant everything. Some of his fondest childhood memories were made growing up alongside his cousins and spending precious time with his grandparents. Family remained at the heart of Dave’s life, and he deeply treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, poker nights with friends, and listening to music. Live music was one of his deepest loves. Scarlett and Tobias were two of the greatest joys of his life; there’s nothing he loved more than being their uncle. David will always be cherished and remembered for his giving heart, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. He always had a quick joke and an infectious laugh to brighten anyone’s day. Although his presence will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (6409 County Road 946 Logan, Alabama), where the service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.D. and Faye Thornton, Doug Allcorn, and Junior Watts; and his uncles, Jeff Thornton and Doug Thornton. He is survived by his loving wife, Cassie Horton Robinson; his parents, Dean and Vicki Allcorn; his sister and brother-in-law, Alexis and Zac Hennington; and his beloved niece and nephew, Scarlett and Tobias Hennington. Dave may no longer be with us, but the love he gave so freely, the lives he touched, and the memories he left behind will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends. And just as the words from one of his and Cassie’s favorite songs say, “I hope you know that I love you, wherever you are.” That love will always remain, carrying Dave with us wherever life takes us.
