David “Dave” Gerard Rauen, age 72, passed away on Friday August 21, 2026, at his home from an extended illness. Dave was born on July 4, 1954, to the late Gerard and Judy Athman Rauen. Dave loved working on anything, but especially cars. From a young age, he worked on cars alongside his dad, learning everything he could. He was always willing to help anyone fix anything and never hesitated to lend a hand. Dave also had a love for music and taught himself how to play the guitar. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially water skiing and kayaking.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Henry Colby.
He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Rebeka Hyder; son, Jeffery Rauen; life partner, Billie Elaine Grove; stepdaughter, Amber (Matt) Langford; sisters, Leslie (Doug) Weiss, Sally Colby, Diane (Dave) Ryda, Barbra (Mark) Baker, and Michele (Jim) Chlor; and grandchildren, Lyla Raun, Neal Hyder, Lillian Hyder, Isabel Hyder, Leslie Langford, Jeremy Grove. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
Per Dave’s wishes he will be cremated. No services are scheduled currently.
