Mr. David Creel, of Graysville, born on Mother’s Day, May 11, 1930, went to his eternal home on Friday, December 4, 2020. David’s goal in life was to make his home in Heaven, and therefore, he gave his life to reach that goal. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Empire Memorial Cemetery. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
David graduated from Dora High School in 1948. He served in the Marine Corp and during that time he served two terms in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Redstone Arsenal in 1992. His greatest hobby was travel, and he visited several countries. He traveled to 48 states and was blessed with several motor homes to do these travels. He had several other hobbies such as nature, especially the wildlife seen daily outside his sunroom window, reading, television and music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Manning Creel and Tezzie Mae Miller Creel; and older brothers, Charles Dalin Creel and Dorsey Paul Creel. They made the same decisions in this life. Now they can all rejoice.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Willa Faye Ballenger Creel; his children, Charlotte Denise Creel and Ronald David Creel and wife, Tina Hanners Creel; his only sister, Zannai Von Creel Partain, who married Mack Partain, and lives in the home place at Creel Town (Empire, AL) where David grew up. He loved all of them so much and will be missed by each one; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.
The family requests that you make any monetary contributions to a local church or Encompass Hospice. However, the family prefers you give flowers to a first responder, nurse or doctor because of the great care David received during his hospital stay at UAB Highlands and after returning to his home in Graysville, AL, with Encompass before making that final journey to his home in Heaven to see his King of Kings. The family and friends lost David. We now have many wonderful memories.
