David Carl Peters, age 65, of Florence passed away Monday, March 18, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 11:00AM-1:00 P.M. at Eastwood Church of Christ. The service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Sonny Owens officiating. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, Scott Miller, Tommy McCorkle, Frank McCorkle, Nathan McCorkle, Greg Peters and Gene Peters. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon McCorkle, Randy Dodson, Bert Jones and Lawrence Sledge. He was an avid golfer and Alabama fan, a graduate of the University of Missouri in Rolla, Missouri school of Mines. He was an employee with Reynolds Aluminum until 1987 and retired from Nichols Aluminum in Davenport, Iowa as a chief Metalurgist. He was active in the leadership with Moline Church of Christ in Moline, IL, recently attending East Wood Church of Christ. Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Brenda McCorkle Peters; mother, Crystal Peters of Effingham, IL.; children, Heather Miller (Scott) of Murfreesboro, TN; Rachel Peters of Phoenix, AZ; goddaughter, Heather Dodson of Davenport, IA; sister, Chrystal Ann Uptmor (Tom) of Effingham, IL; brother, Eugene Peters (Pat) of St. Louis, MO; three Grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Kayla; nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of the grandchildren to Middle Tennessee Christian School, 100 E. MTCS Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
