David Briggs Long, 88 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at Limestone Health & Rehab. Mr. Long was born on May 1st, 1935, in Lauderdale County, to Floyd and Marie Kelley Long.
Mr. Long is survived by his sisters Evelyn Siniard, of Athens, Nella Harrison, of Lester, Lounette Long Wilson, of Athens, and Connie Ball, of Athens; and brothers M.F. Long (Kathy), of Lester, and Charles Long (Paula), of Athens.
He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Marie Long; brothers Billie Gene Long and Floyd O’Neal Long; and niece Kelly Antoinette DeFoe.
Funeral services for Mr. Long will be Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Larry Tucker and Tony Harrison officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am-1:50pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hester Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Long enjoyed many things, but especially arrowhead hunting, reading, gardening, and tinkering. He will be dearly missed.
