David Blair – Obituary

David Blair, 78, of Loretto, Tenn., passed away Friday, July 19, 2013.
A native of West Point, he was a retired teacher and sawmiller, a longtime board member of the Blair Cemetery Perpetual Care Association, and he attended West Point Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Tays and Ethel Smith Blair; two brothers, C.T. Blair Jr and Paul Blair; and six sisters, Christine Misenhimer, Marguerite Robertson, Vernon Plaskett, Wilma Bassham, Laura Nell Blair and Olene Blair.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Loretto Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Bassham officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Survivors include nephews, Keith Misenhimer, Larry Misenhimer,Steve Misenhimer, Don Misenhimer, Rick Misenhimer, Kent Robertson, John Plaskett, Jimmy Bassham and Randy Blair; and nieces, Joy Dorriety, Connie Stone, Kathy Jackson, Doris Lyles and Janet Bradley; several great-great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
A special thank you goes to Caris Hospice staff and the ladies who “sat” with David the last three weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Point Methodist Church Building Fund (John Plaskett, treasurer, 208 Georgia St., West Point, TN 38486) or the Blair Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund (Danny Noblit, treasurer, 422 Hillwood Drive, Loretto, TN 38469).
