David Allen Pugh, 62 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Pugh was born on January 4th, 1959, to James David and Martha Ann Brooks Pugh.

Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife Valerie Pugh; children Roderick Shoulders, Christopher Shoulders, Ladarius Shoulders, and Ladouglas Shoulders; grandchild Alijah Shoulders; sisters Peggy Davis (Tom) and Deborah Dollar (David); uncle Jack Brooks; aunts Betty Brooks and Cindy Siniard (Dwight); mother-in-law Mandela Shoulders; 5 brothers-in-law; and 2 sisters-in-law.

Preceded in death by his parents David and Annie Pugh; and father-in-law Robert Shoulders.

Funeral services for Mr. Pugh will be Saturday, December 4th, 2021, at 12:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Olive Horne officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 3rd, from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

David is a follower of Jesus Christ and Lay Minister of the Gospel. He is an Enthusiastic hunter of deer and lover of their provision on his family’s table. He was employed by USDA for 27 years and had advanced to Grade CSI-9 through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. He was a graduate of West Limestone High School, class of 1977. David was loved dearly and greatly respected by family and friends.
