David Allen Montgomery, age 73, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be Friday, May 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Colbert Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Glendale Cemetery in Leighton, Alabama, with a Masonic service following. Officiating will be Brother Greg Beasley and Brother William C. Pullen. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and a retired boilermaker in Local 455.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Alma Montgomery, and brothers, Kenneth and Jimmy Dean Montgomery.
Survivors are his wife, Christine Montgomery; sons, Greg Montgomery (Michelle) and John Montgomery (Silicia); daughter, Amanda Brackin (Pat); and grandchildren, Brennen Wimbs, Lance Martin, Baleigh Brackin, Barker Montgomery, and Brodie Montgomery.
Pallbearers will be Ray Counts, Clete Whiteside, Brian Pifer, Lee Aday, Ryan Aday, and Warren Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Aycock, Mike Holloway, Andy Burden, Cleveland Burden, and Randall Fuller.
