May 30, 1960 – September 5, 2022 Darryl Glenn Palm, 62, of Madison, passed away Monday.
Darryl was a lot of things to a lot of people, the usual nouns – husband, father, brother, grandfather – and a few idiosyncratic ones – weather enthusiast, chef extraordinaire, sports guru, bigfoot believer. He taught his kids how to work hard and provide for your family, how to be a good Christian and serve others first, and how to trash talk your opponent. He loved many things like cherry pie, Alabama football, good air conditioning, the mountains but nothing as much as his family.
Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Barbara Ann O’Rear Palm. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rene’ Darnell Palm, daughters Jennifer Matthews (Jordan), Lauren Bailey (Chad), son Corey Palm (Caitie); grandchildren Kai Chadwick Bailey, Thomas Glenn Matthews, and Noah Caroline Mathews; brother, Randy Palm (Pinky), and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Darryl would want people to remember that Yellowstone is a great place to visit with your kids, that Alabama is better than Auburn, and that Jesus died to save you from a debt you can’t pay yourself.
If desired, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
