Memorial service for Darrell LeRoy Codding, age 78, of Decatur, will be Friday, December 14, 2012, 11:30 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ray Remke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends at their home, 2305 Burningtree Dr., after the service.
Mr. Codding, who died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 4, 1934 in LaPorte, IN to Thayer Codding and Olive Wallace Codding .
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Fogarty Codding “Kathy”, two sons, John Codding and wife Stacie of Decatur and Jeff Codding and wife Carol of Chelsea, AL, one daughter Pam Codding Wood and husband Mike of Dothan, AL. Seven grandchildren Lauren Codding, Jennifer Codding, Katherine Herbert all of Decatur, Maggie Lewis of Birmingham, Brett Wood of Selma, AL, Abby Codding and Daniel Zsigray both of Chelsea, AL. Grand Son-in-law Mitchell Lewis of Birmingham, AL and one Great grandson Bradford Wood Lewis of Birmingham, AL.
