It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Darrel Scott Black, aged 55, on Thursday, August 26, at his home in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel D Black and Sonja M Wood Nichols and is survived by his son, Jordan Black, sisters Cindy Black, Charla Black and Sandra Hudspeth, stepmother Gerda Black, nephews Glenn Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds and niece Alison Reynolds.
We will remember Scott for his keen humor, his gift for appreciating the great beauty in life as well as the pleasures of small things. Scott’s interests were wide and varied. He was passionate about music, loved animals, nature, history and all things related to the natural world. Scott had a remarkable ability to excel at most anything that captured his vast interest and imagination.
There is no memorial service planned at this time but there will be a gathering for remembrance at a later date. When family and friends find an occasion to gather together please raise a glass in remembrance of Scott, he would have loved that best.
