Darlene Ann Hopla (82), of Hartselle, Alabama, peacefully passed away on February 29, 2024 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama after a brief illness. She was born on November 5, 1941, in Sciotodale, Ohio. Darlene graduated from Wheelersburg High School in the Class of 1959.
Darlene was a vibrant soul who embraced life with a youthful spirit. She had a passion for quilting and had a knack for excelling in everything she pursued. She loved her family and it radiated from the inside out to anyone she encountered. She never met a stranger and always created new friendships at every turn, as well as maintaining relationships with her lifelong friends.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd Hopla of Hartselle, Alabama; Sons Todd Kanniard of
Ohio, Greg (Debbie) Kanniard of Georgia; Daughter Lisa (Kurtis) Lininger of Ohio; Son
Shawn Hopla; Daughter Lisa Cuttrell; Granddaughters Emily (Justin) Irvin, Jenni (Jay) Eason and Rachel Gaffney; Grandsons Tyler Kanniard and Matthew Hopla; Great-grandson Jackson Irvin.
Darlene was preceded in death by her Parents, John and Bertha James Fraley; Brothers Lester Fraley and John Fraley Jr.; Sisters Evena Fraley Hagar, Betty Fraley Gulley, Juanita Fraley Thomson, Coleen Fraley Mowery, Linda Fraley Coriell, and Brenda Fraley Claus.
In accordance with her wishes, Darlene will be cremated, and there will be no memorial services.
Darlene’s enjoyment for life and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In Christ’s arms now.
