Darce W. Pirtle Profile PhotoDarce W. Pirtle was born on January 14, 1934 in the Cuba Landing community of Waverly, Tennessee, the son of the late Edward Martin and Golden Heath Daniel Pirtle.

On December 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Patricia Whitfield, who preceded her husband in death on June 16, 2020.

Mr. Pirtle honorably served his country in the United States Army and National Guard. He spent his early years as a farmer in Missouri. He retired in 1993 from Tennessee Valley Authority where he worked in the accounting department. Darce was a woodworker and made handmade swings he sold at the Old Tyme Hardware Store in Counce, Tennessee until 2025. He was also a beekeeper and a good carpenter, even building his own home. Darce was a former member of Iuka Church of Christ and currently attended Savannah Church of Christ.

Darce is survived by his sons, Harold Don Pirtle (Lana), Darryl Jon Pirtle (Mickie), and David Neal Pirtle; sister, Sue Wiles; grandchildren, Allen Turner, Brooke Fulton (Elijah), Chris Pirtle (Renata), Whitney Gravelle (Josh), Sara Clark, Caige Pirtle, Madison Pirtle, Nathan Pirtle (Lauren), Michael Pirtle, Jonathan Pirtle (Mckenzi), and Angel Pirtle; and great grandchildren, Colt, Jacob, Kane, Korbin, Brooks, Charlee, Beckham, Ella, Grady, Darcie, Lason, and Liza.

In addition to his wife and parents, Darce was preceded in death by his stepson, Glen William Turner; sister, Irene Pirtle; and brothers, Dutch Pirtle, Rudolph Pirtle, Ray Pirtle, Harvey Daniel, Vernon Daniel, Earl Pirtle, and Junior Pirtle.
