DEKALB COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has occurred in Dekalb County that has taken the life of one person:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. Friday, July 4, has claimed the life of a Collinsville man.
Derrick G. Barkley, 48, was fatally injured when the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving left the roadway, struck a fence and utility pole before overturning. Barkley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on DeKalb County 30 near DeKalb County 84, three miles northwest of Collinsville, in DeKalb County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
