Danny Whitt Magnusson, 87, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Danny spent his whole life in the Ardmore community and was a member at Wooley Springs Baptist Church. After serving in the United States Air Force for four years, he came home and went to work for Monsanto as a maintenance mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, raising his goats and cattle, riding his tractor, as well as taking excellent care of his lawn.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Clifford Magnusson and Bessie Whitt Magnusson, as well as two sisters, Dorothy Brock and Betty Reyer.
Danny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Magnusson, two sons, Steve (Jody) Magnusson and Stacey (Terri) Magnusson, one brother, Mike (Linda) Magnusson, two sisters, Imogean McDonald and Edwina Dean, four grandchildren; Jacob Magnusson, Brittney (Carson) McGregory, Jeffrey (Andrea) Green, Jeremy (Keisha) Green, as well as two great grandchildren, Collins McGregory and Jenna Green.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Magnusson at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM. A funeral service is scheduled to begin immediately after visitation with service time beginning at 1:00 PM. Bro. Tony Boyles and Speaker Jerry Sims will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
