Funeral for Danny Richard Mardis, 62, of Decatur will be today, August 6, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Dr. Todd Evans officiating. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mardis, who died Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born November 18, 1950, in Lawrence County to Jack and Berchie Mardis. He was a 1976 graduate of Auburn Univeristy and retired as a civil engineer from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Rayan Mardis; and two sisters, Eloise Burchel and May Lynn Tribble.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mardis; one son, Patrick Mardis; one daughter, Paige Mardis; and two sisters, Annie Cole (Lester) and Vicky Ray.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur General Foundation or Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
