Danny Ray Mayfield, age 67, of Corner Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Aug 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy L. and Effie Campbell Mayfield; brother, Joe Mayfield and sister, Shelba Bagwell. Danny Ray is survived by his son, Daniel R. Mayfield (Kimberly); grandson, Max Mayfield and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. Danny Ray loved coaching baseball and serving on the board at Corner Community Park. He volunteered for many years at Corner Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Danny Ray was a United States Army Paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He spent many years doing what he loved as a pilot for the Alabama Forestry Commission. Danny Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, Aug 23, 2018. Visitation from 12-2pm, Funeral beginning at 2pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Corner, Alabama.
