Danny Grant Gilbert went to Heaven on March 9, 2026.

Dan was one of four children born to Eulas “Gil” and Patty Gilbert. He was born in Texas, but his family moved to Huntsville at a young age and he grew up in the Sherwood Park area. Dan deeply loved and respected his mom and dad, who raised him to be a true gentleman.

Dan served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War for six years. He then began his career as a quality control inspector and had a long career at Lockheed Martin.

Before becoming ill, Dan enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, and going to concerts. His favorite things to do were traveling to the beach with his wife, watching his beloved Texas Longhorns football, and spending time with his constant four-legged companion, Sandi.

Dan loved his wife, Pam, with his whole heart. He was very supportive of her and was her best friend. They laughed a lot and he had many pet nicknames he enjoyed calling her.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Gardner Gilbert; his son, Justin; his two sisters, Sandra Henderson and Leslie Walker; sisters-in-law, Dinah Gilbert and Kim Gardner; brothers-in-law, Tommy Walker and Doug Gardner; nieces, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Kelly, and Kaitlin and their spouses; and nephews, Micah, Kyle, Cristopher, Griffin and their spouses. He was especially doting on his great niece and nephew, Kennedy and Jameson, whom he loved very much.

Dan was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Bradley, and brother-in law, Marvin Henderson.

Pam would like to say a special thank you to Crestwood Hospital, nurses, Perlita, Bridget, and Michelle, and Drs. Campbell, Walker, Haley and Mahmood.

A private service will be held for immediately family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the GoFundMe to help defray the costs of Danny’s medical expenses.
