Danny David Horton, born on February 9, 1953, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, found his career path as an independent insurance agent who touched the lives of many with his integrity and commitment to his work. He passed away on May 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and community.
Danny was the son of the late Edward and Mary Lois Reeves Horton, and he was preceded in death by his brother Donnie Horton and his sister Paulette Bratcher.
Completing his education with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology, Danny ventured into the realm of insurance, where he became known as a trustworthy and dependable agent.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Danny was an avid lover of nature and the great outdoors. He found joy in hiking and traveling, exploring the beauty this world has to offer. He was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. June Carol Horton, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and their children: Erin Cooley and her spouse Greg of Arrington, Tennessee; Nathan Horton and his spouse Carey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; April Horton and her spouse Shannon of Millbrook, New York. He also cherished his relationship with his sisters Deborah Hester of Russellville, Alabama, and Jeanette Sherrill of Collinwood, Tennessee.
Danny took great pride in being a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Leanna Edwards, Landon Horton, Sophie Ladeau, Kilian Whitford, Katie Cooley, and Grayson Cooley. and a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Each moment spent with them brought him immense happiness and fulfillment.
A visitation in honor of Danny will take place on June 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, Tennessee.
