Danielle-Denton-1441991436Danielle Denton, age 13, of Sheffield, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 10, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, September 14, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church Colbert Heights. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Seth Hood and Mike Sams officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her parents, Ivan and Carol Denton of Sheffield, brother, Will Denton, grandparents, Fred and Linda Joly, and Delores Denton, and aunts and uncles, Mike and Susan Hall, Mark and Lori Bailey, Paul and Kay Sherer, Cecil Ray and Jane Denton, Glenda Hahn, Reed and Denise Bond, David and Rhonda Young, and Matthew and Sandra Denton. Danielle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Otis Paul Denton, uncle, Paul Denton Jr., and aunt, Rosemary Wise.

Danielle was a student at Colbert Heights High School and an avid artist. She was a brave and inspiring young lady whose life story of battling cystic fibrosis touched the hearts and lives of so many. She always had a smile on her face no matter what she encountered. She is the true meaning of a hero.

Pallbearers will be Trenton Roden, Cody Counce, Garrett Sams, Dylan Marlar, Jacob Milender, and Logan Hayes.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the Staff of Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, especially Dr. Wynton Hoover and Cathy Mims, for their love, care, and support.
