Daniel Demarcus Austin, 71, of Hillsboro, died July 19, 2015, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. His funeral will be today, July 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Donald Baptist Church in Town Creek, with Brother Hugh Bohlin and Brother Gerald Sherrill officiating, and Jackson Memory Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Austin and Mary Austin Terry; one son, Marcus Austin; and one sister, Phriscella Jackson. He retired with 38-plus years from Joe Wheeler EMC Co-Op, IBEW Local 558. Master Mason member of Town Creek Lodge No. 361 Eastern Star-Moulton Chapter 412. Danny was a member of the original King’s Messengers and a member of Donald Baptist Church in Town Creek.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce Gower Austin; daughter, Sonya Crumpton, of Smith Lake; son, Joey Crumpton (Captain Lesley-Anne Crumpton), of Dahlonega, Georgia; grandchildren, Victoria Burleson (Sam) and his children, Taegen and Jaycee, of Hatton, Joseph and Jasper Crumpton, of Hatton; and his beloved dog, Nike.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Sherrill, Lanier Sherrill, Chad Masterson, Tim Nichols, Steve Everly and Lil Slick Jones.
