Daniel ‘Danny’ H. Vesper
Dan, 68, died on Feb. 2, 2017, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He was born Nov. 2, 1948 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama to the late Oliver Dayton Vesper and Hazel Kearley Vesper.
A celebration of Dan’s life has been planned for Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Athens First United Methodist Church in Athens, Alabama.The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service led by Reverend Kenny Baskins at 11 a.m.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Oscar “Buggs” Vesper and sister, Juanita McRoy.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Vesper; son, Todd Vesper; daughter, Amanda Young (Stephen); three granddaughters, Virginia, Amariah and Lauren Young; brothers, David Vesper and Troy (Mose) Vesper; and sisters, Diane Halbrook (Bobby) and Vera Bosarge (David).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Athens First United Methodist Church or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
