Daniel Copeland Deal, 62, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Spry-Williams Funeral Home with Chuck Canterbury officiating. A visitation will be held beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Dan, a native of Tuscaloosa, was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Alabama National Guard which he served for 35 years. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church and a seventh grade teacher in the Florence City schools system.
Dan loved his wife, Lisa, of 39 years and was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Barnett, and parents, Catherine Deal and Rufus Deal.
He is survived in death by his wife, Lisa; sons, Jonathan Deal and wife, Kaylin, of Madison, and Jeremy Deal and wife, Donya, of Vestavia Hills; sisters, Julie Bishop and husband, Larry, of Pell City, and Sally Brown and husband, Steve, of Pell City; grandsons, Jackson, Preston, Dylan, and Rowan; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
