Dane Paul Dixon, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the age of 68. His visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. at Edgemont United Methodist Church in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Reverend Henry Prater officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Cemetery in Florence.
Dane was a graduate of Deshler High School and of the University of North Alabama. He retired with 35 years of service for the State of Alabama and was a member of the Edgemont United Methodist Church in Florence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Jean Little Dixon; wife, Tracey Dixon; and sister, Sara Stevenson. Dane was a loving father and grandfather and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his son, Taylor Dixon (Megan Dixon); brother, Mark Dixon (Debra Dixon); and one grandchild, Hayden Dixon.
Pallbearers will be Roger Fuller, Doug Kirkland, Jack Staples, George Carpenter, David Gardner and Jackie Stevenson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dane Dixon Memorial Fund at the Edgemont United Methodist Church in Florence.
