Mrs. Dana Jean Cooper, 55, of Barney, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Cooper was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Killen, Ala. to James and Barbara Peck. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Owen Cooper, of Barney; three daughters, Libby Cooper Griner, of Barney, Casi Cooper, of Barney, and Ashley Cooper, of Barney; five grandchildren, Jessica Griner, Skyler Hodges, Leanna Hodges, Trent Harris and Trevor Harris; father, James Peck, of Killen, Ala.; two brothers, Phillip Peck, of Killen, Ala., and Greg Peck, of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Hale Peck; and one sister, Jana Hunt. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tony Marshall and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. The body will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
