Dan “Chief” Sullivan – Obituary

Mr. Dan “Chief” Sullivan, 82, passed away Saturday August 21, 2016 at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born in Spencer, Tennessee on February 19, 1934 to Walter and Novella Greene Sullivan who preceded him in death along with his wife, Frances Clendenon Sullivan and infant sons, Michael and Dewayne Sullivan; sister, Margaret Sue Rigsby; brother, Aulton Sullivan.

He was a saw mill operator, farmer and logger. He was a member of the Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Doan Sullivan and Mark (Teresa) Sullivan; sisters, Betty (Willard) Forsythe, Loudene Martin, Vella (Dan) Sellars and Shirley (Lloyd) Clendenon; brother, Johnny (Thelma) Sullivan; grandchildren, Alex, Nathaniel, Hannah and Sarah; companion, Linda Yates; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Wayne Sullivan officiating with burial to follow in the Molloy Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Spencer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
