damionDamon Fogg passed away on November 24, 2016. He was born May 25, 1921, south of Ardmore, Alabama. He was a member of the Pulaski, Tennessee, Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he had been a member for many years. He loved his church and had served as deacon and head-deacon for several years.
His working years were spent mainly in the trucking business. He sold coal and fertilizer to the local farmers. Also, he enjoyed raising black angus cattle on the side. His cattle always received the best feed and care. He would
stand by the hour watching the cattle graze while he whittled on a piece of wood. This was his way of relaxing. After he retired from the trucking business, he farmed for a few years raising soybeans.
In later years one of grandfather’s favorite pastimes was gardening and it showed by the beautiful produce that he grew. He enjoyed sharing his produce with friends and family. However, he always wanted to pick the produce himself since someone else might damage his plants.
Damon Fogg was the son of the late Rossie Davis Fogg and Fannie Coggins Fogg of Ardmore, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Eckstein Fogg (they were married for 52 years) and five brothers: Dolphus, Harry, Hobert, R.D. and Bruce Fogg.
He leaves behind his loving wife of the past 24 years, Betty Fogg; one son, David Fogg (Wife, Ann Fogg); two grandchildren (Mike and Mark, the joy of his life); 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Hatchett Cemetery, Athens, Alabama, with visitation from 12 noon until 1:30 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
