The funeral for Dale Vess, 65, will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church at 1 p.m. with Reverend Floyd Odom officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church. Mr. Vess, who died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born July 7, 1951, to Rayburn Dee Vess and Sadie Ann Pace Vess. He was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. He retired from Solutia and was the owner of Dale Vess Builders.
He was preceded in death by mother, Sadie Ann Pace Vess, and father, Rayburn Dee Vess.
Survivors include wife, Brenda Smith Vess; two sons, Steven (LaDonna) Vess and Timothy (Angela) Vess; daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Smith; two sisters, Brenda Little and Connie Parker; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Smith, Caleb Vess, Andrew Vess, Ashton Vess, Owen Vess, Mark Brock, Doug Queen, and Frankie Sparks.
