Dr. Dale Leonard, 75, of Decatur, died on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born April 8, 1940, in New York to Donald Joseph Leonard and Carneta Shoop Leonard. Dr. Leonard was a Neuro Physchologist. He earned his B.S. Degree from 1958-1962 at Colgate University, 1962-1964 his Master’s at the College of William and Mary, 1964-1967 his Ph.D from University of Texas, an Internship in Forensic Pyschology at Florida in 1979. He also served an internship in Miami VAMC in Neuropsychology. He was licensed as a Clinical Pyshologist in Alabama and his professional career began in 1967-1969 as the Assistant Professor of Pyschology at the Univeristy of Rochester, 1969 -1979 as an Associate Professor of Pyschology at Purdue University, Director of Assessment for Wiregrass Mental Health Center in Dothan, AL from 1981-1986, Chief of Psychology- for Regional Hospital in Decatur, AL from 1986 to 1991. In 1991, until the present he did Consulting for the Social Security Disability Determination and The Alabama Department of Corrections.

He was a Loving husband a wonderful father and a great Grandfather.

In honor of his wishes, no services will be held.

Thomas Edward Leonard, Birmingham, AL

Two Sisters:
Judy Taylor, Towano, VA and
Linda Thompson, North Carolina

Four Grandchildren:
Kirra Leonard,
Rhett Leonard,
Norah Murphy and
Audrey Claire Baker
