Dale Lee Holden, Sr. – Obituary

 Dale Lee Holden, Sr., 68, Born April 22, 1950 went to be with his Savior December 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Otis Lee Holden, mother Myrtle Eva Holden, brother, Otis Glenn Holden, and grandson Presley Kane Holden. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dale was a faithful, devout Christian and deacon at his lifelong church at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Dale loved watching his son and granddaughters play ball always attending games up until he couldn’t anymore. He always said to put God first and family second and you could never do wrong, to the men at International Paper he worked and grew up with, he truly loved each and every one of you. He loved all of us and you always felt it. A special thanks to Dr. Paluri and Dr. Jacob at UAB, Dr. Joshua Vacik and Dr. Jack McLendon and all the staff at Helen Keller Hospital. We will love and miss you so much with that constant smile of love and warmth until we meet you again. We love you, your family.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Shelia Holden; son, Lee Holden (Sharlene); granddaughters (or Fred’s as he called them), Sianna Purser, Brilee Holden (fiancé Hunter Goad), Camryn Holden, and Madlyn Holden; great-grandson, Reed Purser; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2018, 4-8 PM at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.  Funeral services will be Friday, December 21, 2018, 11 AM at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ with Bro. Austin Johnson officiating.  Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery.  Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.

Pallbearers: Hunter Goad, Mitch Holden, Brad Tank, Brandon Barringer, Colby beck, and Junior Corum

Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Barringer, Dennis Holden, David Holden, James Holden, Earl Tank, Butch Collins, Harlan Clemons, and Charles Clemons.
