Mrs. Daisy Jeffery ShellBorn and raised in Alabama on May 30, 1930, Daisy Jeffery Shell age 92 passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Daisy went to Chattanooga at 18 and worked in a factory for many years. During that time, she met and married Norman Shell and began her family, having 3 children. She then went to Beauty School and owned and operated her own beauty salon for many years. She retired in 1993 and moved back to Alabama.

Daisy taught Sunday School in Chattanooga churches for 17 years, before joining Shiloh Baptist Church when she moved back to Alabama. At Shiloh, she was a very active volunteer for many years. She served a President of the Democrat Club for 1 year, president of the Singles Club in Guntersville for 5 years, and president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge-where she spent many hours helping people in need. She also managed the social dance for the Ladies Auxiliary the American Legion and VFW for 3 ½ years. She also did many types of painting and very good at making quilts. Daisy was also a songwriter and singer. She sang in many churches in and around Scottsboro and with several bands as a guest singer.

She is survived by one son, Barry Shell; one sister, Mary E. Jeffery and husband Lewis C. Wicks; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Shell; and children, Janie Shell and Alan Shell.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Goosepond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
