Cyrus Edward Oliver, age 77, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at TN State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN.
Ed was born March 23, 1949, in Pulaski, Tennessee, to the late George and Mary Hargrove Oliver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Wiser Oliver in 2023.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Darnell and Cindy (David) Smith both of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Tanner) Crutcher, Allison Darnell, and Cole Smith.
He will be remembered for a life marked by service, dedication, and love for family. He retired as Director of Information Technology from Coral Industries in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, after a career defined by hard work and leadership. He proudly served his country in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and continued that commitment through his service in the Army Reserve, from which he also retired. He held deep pride in his military service and the sacrifices it represented. An avid golfer, he especially enjoyed living on the golf course and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished the moments he shared with his three grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to TN State Veterans’ Home, 345 Compton Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
Graveside Service will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery, Yell Road, Lewisburg, TN, with burial to follow.
