Cynthia “Tena” Barnes, age 58 of Haleyville, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1966, to Hubert and Dale Willis. Tena enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved to go to author “meet and greet” events. More than anything else, however, Tena cherished being able to play with her grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville. A funeral service will follow, starting at 5:00 p.m. Brother Michael Threadgill, and Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate. Tena was survived by her son, Bo (Tori) Willis; daughter Toni (Kyle) Peden; stepson, Brandon (Jennifer) Cagle; grandchildren, Austin, Gabriel Russell, Isaiah Willis, Clara Belle Peden, Eva Jo Peden; sisters, Janet Willis, Barbie (Todd) Arthur, Donna (Larry) Gainey; brother Jerry (Angie) Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Barnes; an unborn child; parents, Hubert and Dale Willis; sisters, Doris Willcutt and Catherine Willis; and an unborn grandchild.
