Cynthia Sue Sullivan Parnell, 71, known as Sue to friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021 at her home with family at her
side.

She was born to Archie William Sullivan and Rose Brown Sullivan in Lubbock, Texas on March 16, 1950. She graduated from W.A. Berry
High School in Vestavia Hills, AL in 1968, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from Auburn University, and a Master’s Degree in
Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She moved to Jasper in 1995 where she worked for Northwest Alabama Mental
Health Center, serving most recently as Director of Community Relations. She was heavily involved in the community, serving as the
President of the Kiwanis Club of Jasper from 2007-2008 and participating in the Rotary Club and Leadership Walker County programs.  She attended services at First United Methodist Church in Jasper.

She is survived by her twin sons, Andrew Judson Parnell (Lindsey) of Maitland, FL and Clayton Sullivan Parnell (Deidra) of Jasper, AL, in addition to her sister Rosemary Sullivan Hataway (Jacky) of Lewisburg, TN, and nephew John William Hataway (Cara) and great nephew William of  Nolensville, TN. She has three grandchildren who adore her: Archie and Dylan Parnell; Harper Rose Parnell and a granddaughter due to arrive in November.

She is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Rose Sullivan.

The family will receive friends at Collins Burke Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 with funeral service immediately following at 3:30 PM in the Collins Burke Chapel.
