Cynthia Carol Aston Chambers, 54, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. Cynthia was a 1988 graduate of South Pontotoc High School and also attended the University of Mississippi. An educator at South Pontotoc High School for many years, Cynthia was loved by her fellow teachers, students, and former students. She genuinely cared for all children that she came into contact with especially teacher’s children and her young cousins. Cynthia also worked for the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include her father, James Hubert Aston, her sons, Jacob Chambers and JaMichael Gates, her aunts, Carolyn Aston Boatwright, Mary Ellen Bergeron, Anita Carnes Waldrop, Bettie Owen, and Kathie Mason (George), her uncles, Joel and Jerry Moorman, and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Moorman Aston, her grandparents, James Earl and Ethel Aston and George and Frances Moorman, and several aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc at 6PM with visitation beginning at 4PM. Bro. Wayne Cobb will officiate.
