Cynthia, also known as Mom, Mawmaw, Nanny, and Aunt Tent, lived a full and active 97 years of life.

She dedicated her career to sewing, first by starting work as a young lady, in a shirt factory. She was an excellent seamstress. She sewed her entire life, not only for herself, but for her family and anyone who needed her talents.

On the other hand, she dedicated her life to volunteer work. She filled her days committed to multiple clubs throughout her life, from The Good Sams club to the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was always on someone’s roll call. Her church was her top priority when it came to volunteering. She was happiest when she was serving others.

At the top of her favorite hobbies list was fishing with her husband of 70 years. They both loved fishing on Smith Lake so much, they built a lake house for the family to enjoy for many decades. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, playing dominoes, painting ceramics, and crocheting, lots of crocheting!

She was also our family historian. She loved genealogy and made it her goal to help put together our family tree.

At the top of any job she could ever do, she put taking care of her family as her sole purpose in life. She loved her family with all her heart, mind, and soul. There was no greater joy in her life than to love on her family. And it shows in all four generations who came after her.-
