Mr. Curtis Lavon Whisenant Mr. Curtis Lavon Whisenant of the Grassy Community in Union Grove, Alabama; departed from this lifetime in the early hours of Sunday – February 13, 2022 at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Whisenant was born on February 24, 1944 in Madison County, Alabama to Earl Lavon Whisenant and Mary Frances Smith Whisenant. Mr. Whisenant proudly served his country in the United States Army and was part time stationed in Korea. He enjoyed activities such as; woodworking, traveling, farming, dancing and loved his donkeys.
Mr. Whisenant leaves behind to celebrate and reminisce his life; beloved wife, Rita Jan Burgess Whisenant; sons, Eric Whisenant (Amy), Brent Whisenant (Jessica), Joshua Chumley (Barbara) and Brandon Chumley (Jennifer); daughter, Leah Whisenant; brother, Austin Whisenant (Lynn); as well as 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Mr. Whisenant is at last reunited with his; parents, Earl Lavon Whisenant and Mary Frances Smith Whisenant and; brother, Loyd Whisenant.
A visitation will be held at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama on Wednesday – February 16, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Funeral service will take place at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Harold Coe, officiating.
Interment is to follow services immediately at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Union Grove, Alabama
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Whisenant to his final resting place will be; Matthew Whisenant, David Williams, Patrick Williams, Kenneth Alldredge, Terry Alldredge and Joshua Chumley.
