FLORENCE-The City of Florence,Office of the Mayor, City Council, Beautification Board, Tree
Commission, and Urban Forestry/Horticulture Department will sponsor an all day
conference Friday, February 21, 2014, to be held at Cross Point Church of Christ, 1350
Cox Creek Parkway, Florence. The theme for the 19th Annual Conference is: Cultivate the
Future. There will be three specialty tracks offered again this year: Horticulture, Urban
Forestry, and Pesticide Application. Outstanding speakers will present current information.
Keynote speaker will be Leon Bates. During his career, he served as a forester, biologist,
botanist and urban forester/horticulturist. The cost is $45.00 which includes lunch.
Continuing education credits will be awarded. The conference has been a longtime
favorite and is open to the public. Registration forms can be printed from the City’s web
site: www.florenceal.org and mailed to the Mayor’s Office.
