Funeral services for Mr. Coy C. Campbell, age 85 of Lineville, will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery (North).
Mr. Campbell passed away on May 12, 2024 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston; AL. Coy was born in Clay County and as a young man began to travel to support himself and his family. He worked in Florida picking oranges and Michigan picking apples. He was a hardworking man that especially enjoyed farming, taking care of his home and especially time on the lawn mower and the tractor.
He is survived by three daughters: Rebecca Bryant (Peggy) of TN, Sarah Ortiz (Tim) of MS; one son, Keith Campbell (Sandra) of AL; and his step-daughter, Linda Giddens (Ira) of AL, ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several other family members and friends, and enjoyed spending time with his many dogs over the years.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Mary Campbell; first wife Linda Faye Campbell and second wife Patricia Campbell; stepson, Ronnie Francis; two grandsons, Kory Campbell and Johnny Ray Horton III; one great-grandson, Braylon Clark; several brothers and sisters.
Active pallbearers will be H. Jonathon Mitchell, Dante Mitchell, Keith Campbell, Peggy Bryant, Cody Mitchell and Shawn Duke.
His visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and until service time on Thursday.
