SHEFFIELD-The Tennessee Valley Art Association is excited to present Kathy Mattea, live at the Ritz Theatre in Sheffield, Alabama on Friday, April 1, at 7:30 pm. Tickets to see the country and bluegrass star range from $35 to $55 and are available at tennesseevalleyarts.org.

With only 350 seats, the Ritz Theatre provides an intimate venue to see the artist hailed by The Washington Post as “one of Nashville’s finest song interpreters.” Mattea has enjoyed much success and acclaim during her 35-year career in country, bluegrass, and folk music, including two Grammy wins, four CMA Awards, four number-one country singles, and five gold albums (plus a platinum Greatest Hits collection).

Her latest album is Pretty Bird, produced by her old friend, roots music wizard Tim O’Brien. The wide-ranging collection of songs chronicles a period of rededication to singing, digging back in and emerging with a poignant and eclectic album. In addition to creating and recording music and performing live on tour, Kathy is increasingly involved with public broadcasting. After serving as a regular guest host, Mattea became the full-time host of the long-running NPR show Mountain Stage in late 2021. She also consulted and contributed on screen in Ken Burns’ 2019 documentary for PBS, Country Music.

Kathy Mattea at The Ritz is sponsored by E.S. Robbins.
