Connie Thomas Golden of Huntsville, AL and Niceville, FL, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026. She was 78. She was born Sep 6, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Marvin H. Thomas and Dorothy L. Thomas. She graduated from Butler High School in Huntsville in 1965. Connie worked for Huntsville Hospital out of high school before taking the office manager job for Dr Bernie H. Moore. After his retirement, Connie took a job at the Redstone Arsenal Hospital as an insurance clerk before retiring in 2004 completing her 40 year career in the medical care profession.
Connie is survived by her husband Stephen P. Golden, formerly of Huntsville, now residing in Niceville, FL, her daughter Tracey Horner of Toney, AL, her sister Karen Pope of Bardstown, KY, her sister Kimberly Thomas of Toney, AL, her sister Jennifer Jennings of Panama City, FL, and step-daughter Jennifer Camp of Hoover, AL. Connie has four grandchildren (Nik Slaton, Gage Camp, Cassie Camp, Colin Camp), and three great-grandchildren with a fourth great-grandchild on the way.
Connie’s family over the years included many dogs and cats and as an ardent supporter of animal rescues, urges donations be made to local rescue organizations in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be Friday, July 3rd 11am-12pm for family members. Public viewing will be from 12pm -2 pm and Graveside services will follow at 2pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Road, Huntsville.
