Connie Sue Thompson InmanConnie Sue Thompson Inman, age 72, Cherokee, unexpectedly left this life to meet her Jesus face to face on Sunday morning, June 9, 2024. She is the beloved wife of Tony Inman; much adored mother of Tony, Mike (Kristy), and John (Angela); cherished Mawmaw of Justin Inman, Ben Inman (Bailey), Katie Inman, Austin Vandiver, Haley Inman, Ashlee Inman (fiancé’ Gavin), and the late Ben Braley. She is the greatest Mawmaw Chick-chick to Emma, Rhett, Adeline, Ne’lccia, Mary Michael, Mar’kisen and one on the way! She is the dear sister to Stevie Thompson, Gary Thompson and the late Rusty Thompson and Diane Thompson. She is the daughter of the late C.R. and Betty Thompson. Connie was born on January 8, 1952, and was a Barton girl through and through.

She attended and graduated from Cherokee High School where she was a majorette and met her “Sugar”, Tony. They celebrated 54 years of marriage this past week. She completed her education by attending Nursing school, which was fitting for her nurturing servant heart. She worked as a nurse for Rudy’s Farm, Wise and Navistar before her retirement.

She was a one-of-a–kind boy mom! She loved her three sons unconditionally and raised them into wonderful men. She was a blessing as a mother-in-law. Her heart was full of love for her grandbabies. She cherished holding them close on her lap and in her arms. There was no better place for those babies to feel safe and take a nap. She has watched them grow into amazing adults. Her latest season of life has given her the great grands and they were her pride and joy!

She was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist church where she was a Sunday School teacher, VBS volunteer and member of the choir. She loved her Pre-K babies more than words.

She loved Jesus, her family, her church, studying her Bible, sewing, crafting, painting, singing, and sleepovers with her cousins. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love for all of us to treasure. Her life was an example of a Proverbs 31 woman. “An excellent wife, who can find? She is far more precious than jewels…her children rise up and call her blessed.”

Please join us in celebrating this beautiful soul on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. and funeral begins at 1:00 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with Jeremy Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at Barton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons, and brother.
