Funeral for Connie Montgomery Akers, 78, of Eva will be Friday, December 27, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Oden Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Ms. Akers died Monday, December 23, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born February 13, 1935, in Morgan County to Jim Montgomery and Janie Patton Montgomery. Her husband, Estill Akers, preceded her in death.
She is survived by six sons, Eddie Akers of Decatur, Estill Akers of Ocee, Fla., Samuel Akers of Decatur, Kenneth Akers, Leroy Akers and Isaiah Akers, all of Eva; two daughters, Cynthia Topash of Niles, Mich., and Anita Suszylo of Decatur; one sister, Linda Owens of Florida; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
