Connie Jo Sanders, 71, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on August 22, 2026, in Ardmore, Alabama.
She was born on Wednesday, February 7, 1955, in Athens, Alabama to John Robert McKnight and Sara Grace Bryant McKnight.
Connie lived all her life in Northern Alabama, where she met the love of her life while riding her bicycle. Jackie knew that day that he was going to marry her. They have gone on to enjoy 54 years of marriage.
She loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Connie could be found sitting and watching the hummingbirds, listening to her romance podcast.
Connie is preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother; Daniel McKnight, one sister; Donna McKnight and one nephew; Jon Zachary Finely.
She is survived by her husband, Jackie Sanders, one son: Jason (Diana) Sanders, one daughter; Heather Sanders, one brother; Gary McKnight, six grandchildren: Jordan Sanders, Blake Sanders, Braden Moncrief, Taylor Moncrief, Andrew Kilpatrick, Georgia Kilpatrick; three step-grandchildren, Ashley Duncan, Kelly Brooks, Wesley Duncan; and three step-great-grandchildren, as well as one niece, Cassie Kilpatrick.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home located in Ardmore, Alabama. A Chapel Service will follow with service time beginning at 1:00 pm. Bro. Spencer Hardiman will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery located in Ardmore, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
