Connie Gene Creel, 85, of Florence, passed away November 14, 2016 at his residence. He was a Deacon Emeritus at Highland Baptist Church, and a US Air Force veteran.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Brock, and Rev. Chris Underwood officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park with military honors.
Mr. Creel was preceded in death by his wife, Doris R. Creel; parents, William and Lillie Creel; sisters, Norma Lee Creel, and Mabel C. Prince.
He is survived by his son, Russell and Nicole Creel of Muscle Shoals; daughters, Sharon and Greg Hammond, and Angela and Tal White all of Florence; grandchildren, Micah (Rachel B.) Hammond, Luke Hammond, Rachel Hammond, Skylar Creel, Chelsea (Wess) McDonald, Andrew White, Jacob White, and Bekah Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Isaac Hammond, Makayla Hammond, Kara Hammond, and John Oliver McDonald.
Active pallbearers will be: Micah Hammond, Luke Hammond, Skylar Creel, Andrew White, Jacob White, and Paul Russell.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Highland Baptist Church.
