DEKALB COUNTY — On Wednesday, September 23 Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) highlighted approval of an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant to DeKalb County Economic Development Authority for the Enhancing Capacity Through Systems Modernization project.
“The ARC grant for the amount of $24,787.00 to the DeKalb County Economic Development Authority will strengthen the organization’s operational capacity to support business retention and expansion, workforce awareness, and regional economic development initiatives throughout the region,” said Congressman Aderholt.
With ARC’s investment, one organization and three workers will be served and improved through professional development activities. Grant funds will support the implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform to improve management of business outreach, industry engagement, and project inquiry information while enhancing reporting, strategic planning, and governance-level decision-making capabilities.
The Enhancing Capacity Through Systems Modernization project will also support access to economic development research, technical assistance resources, and leadership development programs. All opportunities through the ARC grant will create stronger business engagement capabilities and increase workforce awareness, in turn boosting regional economic competitiveness.
“This investment will create long-term prosperity and strengthen economic development for DeKalb County by supporting professional development opportunities, business outreach, and stronger data management systems” said Congressman Aderholt.

The Appalachian Regional Commission is an economic development partnership of the federal government and 13 state governments focused on strengthening economic growth and opportunity across the Appalachian region. ARC’s grant programs are funded through appropriations approved by Congress.
