Collie “Pop” Mattox Jr. was born March 25, 1934 in Lawrenceburg, TN the son of the late Collie R. Sr. and Angie Mearl Townsend Mattox. Mr. Mattox departed this life on Saturday, August 11, at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 4 Months, 17 Days. He was a dairy farmer, worked at Murray Ohio Manufacturing, and was a member at Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife Mary Faith Patterson Mattox of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, Steve Mattox and wife Patrice , Mike Mattox and wife B.J. both of Waynesboro, TN; three sisters, Hazel Perry of Rogersville, AL, Lucille Franklin and husband Bobby of Columbia, TN, Kathleen Violet and husband Paul of Smithville, TN; 18 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mattox was preceded in death by three brothers, Noal Mattox, Austin Mattox, Clay Mattox; four sisters, Vola Phillips, Carlean White, Christine Daniel, and Elaine Mattox.
Services will be held on August 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kerry Franks and Ricky Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, directing.
