Colbert County Man Charged In Shooting Of His Wife

COLBERT COUNTY-According to reports from Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williams  a Leighton man has been charged in his wife’s shooting.

Kenny Joe Waldrep is charged with attempt to commit murder. He is being held in the Colbert County Jail on $150,000 bond.

Waldrep’s wife was shot late Tuesday night in a mobile home on north Main Street in Leighton.

Emergency  personnel were called to the residence just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, December 20 for a person suffering a gunshot wound. Waldrep’s wife had been shot.

43-year-old Tanya Waldrep is in critical, but stable condition at ECM Hospital Chief Brandon Hood said Thursday.
