COLBERT COUNTY-Emergency responders answered a call on Thursday, July 14 at a home in the 1500 block of Highway 157 near Sockwell Lane in the county South of Muscle Shoals were a child had been shot.
Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson confirmed that a child had been shot on Thursday, was transported to Helen Keller Hospital where the child later died.
It is believed by authorities that the shooting was accidental.
The shooting is still under investigation and Sheriff Williams has not released any more information on the case to date.
