Mr. Clyde Thomas West, age 94, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Willow Branch Health and Rehab. He was born on September 13, 1932 in Smithville, TN to parents Charlie Thomas West and Birdie Young West. Clyde proudly served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer. He worked as a government meat inspector for U.S.D.A for many years and was a faithful member of East End Church of Christ. He married Ruth Stewart West, who was the love of his life, on November 23, 1957. They had 58 years full of love before her passing on October 02, 2016.
Clyde is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Evon and Jimmy Davis, sister-in-law Hazel West, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and church friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Wilburn (Frances) West and Everett West, and sister Doris Beard.
Funeral services for Clyde West are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 29, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Kevin Key will officiate. Interment will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens in DeKalb County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. in the McMinnville Funeral Home parlors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
